This was the first of two free, training events running in 2023 which will cover how and why organisations can use video in their communications. We will also look at how you can get funding for your video projects.
This session was held in person at Resource for London e on Tuesday 16 May, for up to 30 attendees, primarily from small charities working in London. However, if you are from a larger charity or not based in London but your work still benefits communities in London, you are still eligible to take part.
These sessions will assist not for profit organisations with campaign strategy. Many charities want to use video content but lack the relevant skills in-house. This is an opportunity to bring a particular problem you are grappling with and we will propose creative processes to build into your communication strategies.
At the beginning of the session, we’ll spend time looking at a range of different formats and campaigns. We'll talk about how to work out the right format for your campaign and how to calculate the budget for different projects. You'll learn how to make sure you are being true to your organisation, creatively. We'll also discuss ways of being creative if you don’t have much (any?) budget, with a range of top tips and warnings!
Most recently I have been working for a strategic communications human rights charity, but with my background working across education and third sector, think tanks and publishing and being commissioned by organisations like the Equalities and Human Rights Commission and Liberty, I understand exactly the kinds of messaging you need, whether you’re a charity, a non-profit or an educational organisation. I can help you create films to start conversations.
Whether you need to create something for a new campaign, enable your audience to access your resources or tell people about your events – nothing gets your message over faster than a video.
Mike Butler is a fundraising consultant with over 30 years experience of working with charities of all sizes. This has included helping organisations develop marketing and funding plans as well as working with them to secure funds for projects incorporating video.
Request your place today and we will be back in touch with you soon.
Image header shows an image of five people sitting around a table focussing on a computer screen. On the wall in front of them are lots of brightly coloured neon post it notes indicating they've been having an engaged workshop. They are all leaning forward and looking at what's on the screen and there looks like they are discussing ideas.
Here are some quotes from previous sessions (and we will definitely heed the feedback about cake!)
